Bookcity 2024 event: how reading Russian classics can help us in understanding today’s society
Il rischio di leggere Tolstoj e Dostoevskij – Bookcity Milano 2024 Event
This year, too, Fondazione Collegio delle Università Milanesi participates to Bookcity Milano: on Friday, November 15, from 6:30 PM, there will be the event “Il rischio di leggere Tolstoj e Dostoevskij” (The risk of reading Tolstoj and Dostoevskij), with professor Paolo Nori, author and teacher at IULM University.
Reading Russian classics is, today still, a great challenge to understanding our modernity and its contradictions. The meeting will explore how the works of Tolstoj and Dostoevskij, which face existential, moral and spiritual themes of extraordinary complexity, are still able to challenge both personal convictions and the vision and understanding of the world.
The event will be in Italian and it will take place at Collegio di Milano. To participate, it is necessary to register by sending an e-mail to comunicazione@collegiodimilano.it.

Bookcity Milano – The initiative
Bookcity Milano was born in 2012, as a proposal by the municipality of Milan and the association Bookcity Milano, together with AIE (Italian Publishers Association). The goal of Bookcity is to centre a series of events distributed throughout the territory around books, reading and readers, as engines and protagonists of the identity of the city, as well as its transformations throughout the past, the present and the future.
