“Corpi che raccontano” – A performance for human rights

On Tuesday, February 13 Collegio di Milano will host the performance “Corpi che raccontano” (“Bodies that tell stories”), a show created by Campo Teatrale and Terre des Hommes Italia (an international partner of the Fondazione) to promote and raise awareness about the activities of MUSA, the new University Museum of Anthropological, Medical and Forensic Sciences for Human rights.

“Corpi che raccontano” stages the lives of three deceased people. Three characters, two women, one man. An Italian doctor who embodies the role of science in shedding light on the existence of individuals through the study of corpses; an Eastern European woman forced to sell her body and victim of violence; an African woman who bears the signs of abuse and discrimination on her body, who embarks in search of a better destiny and who loses her life at sea, a body among other bodies.

Thanks to the contribution of Life is Live, a project by Smart with Fondazione Cariplo, the performance is being replayed in a tour of 8 dates, 2 of which have already been done in December 2023.

The event is open to the city. To confirm the attendance it is necessary to send an e-mail to comunicazione@collegiodimilano.it.

MUSA – Museum of Forensic Anthropological Sciences for Human Rights

The mission of MUSA (University Museum of Anthropological, Medical and Forensic Sciences for Human Rights) is to disseminate the role and importance of medical, anthropological and forensic sciences in contrasting violence and protecting human rights. The disciplines at the heart of MUSA are those concerned with the study of the human body in all its forms, to reconstruct the past, remote or recent, through the examination of the cadaver, the skeleton, but also of the living.

Under the lens of science, they protect today’s victims and take preventive action, but also help administer justice and reconstruct who we were in ancient times, to better understand the trajectory of social phenomena such as violence and discrimination.

MUSA is a project of the Università degli Studi di Milano, in collaboration with Labanof, Terre des Hommes e Fondazione Isacchi Samaja. Fondazione Collegio delle Università Milanesi supports the initiative as well.
