Sports and education: Carolina Kostner at Collegio di Milano

On Thursday, March 30, Collegio di Milano hosted Carolina Kostner, Italy’s star of ice skating.

The event was coordinated by Alberto Banfi, professor at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano and member of the Scientific Committee of the Fondazione. The athlete talked about her long career, from her first steps on the rinks to the big competitions, such as the Sochi Olympic Games in 2014.

There was also a Q&A session with the students of the Collegio, who asked several questions, from how to manage anxiety before competitions to breathing as an ally in one’s technique; from competition between athletes to the dichotomy talent-working hard.

The event is included in the project Milano-Cortina 2026: Towards the Winter Olympic & Paralympic games, part of the Cultural and Training Activities of Collegio di Milano. Given the national and international relevance of the 2026 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, the activity proposes (both in the current and in the next Academic Years) meetings that aim to fostering the understanding and the approach the event from different perspectives allowing to follow its evolution.
